Carla Semedo was born in Cabo Verde and she is very interested in understanding how policies and cooperation can help developing countries, particularly policies related with Science and Technology.
Carla Semedo obtained her bachelor degree in International Relations by the Faculty of Economy of the Universidade de Coimbra in 2007 and concluded her master studies in International Cooperation and Development by the Instituto Superior de Economia e Gestão de Lisboa. In 2012 Carla started to work at Instituto Gulbenkian de Ciência as an assistent to the PGCD and since 2014 she moved to Cabo Verde to locally coordinate PGCD classes and activities.
