Patrícia Beldade

Patrícia Beldade is the new scientific coordinator of the PGCD. She is responsible for organising, coordinating, and monitoring of the different phases of the PGCD. Patrícia had her Bachelor degree in Biology from the University of Lisbon, Portugal and bagged her PhD in Evolutionary and Developmental Biology from the University of Leiden, The Netherlands. She is an alumnus of the doctoral program of the Instituto Gulbenkian de Ciencia (IGC).

After her post-doc at the University of California at Irvine, USA, Patricia returned to the University of Leiden where she taught for 6 years before returning to Portugal to head her research group at IGC. Her group uses multidisciplinary (evolution, development, ecology and genetics) approaches to investigate the mechanisms involved in in ter-individual differences within and between species. Patricia have been associated with the University of Toulouse, France since 2016 and will be moving her research group to the University in the near future.
